 Good "bang for the buck" GPS size carrying case July 29, 2010

This Amazon Basics case is a perfect fit for my 4.3 inch GPS. However, it looks as if a 5 inch would fit also. The padding around the main compartment is more than adequate for a soft side case. The Velcro closure for the flap is definitely up to the job of keeping a GPS or small camera secure. There is also a small zippered compartment on the front that zips shut and is not padded. The case may be easily attached to a belt with the Velcro fastened belt loop. All in all, a good value.

The materials are very nice and the design is good. I want to report the internal measurements of mine, which seem at variance with others: 5 x 3 x 1.5". It is a perfect fit for my Kodak Z915. The outside pocket hidden by the top flap is 4.5 x 3.3" with a nice zipper near the top and an expansion gusset on the left side. (My Duracell PPS2 Li instant charger which is a small external USB battery, fits nicely in there with its cable, although it is not an accessory that I would use with that particular camera.)
The function and padding of this bag are excellent and a very good buy at this price point. The only downside is poor worksmanship in sewing: on mine neither the belt loop nor the flap velcro strip are centered. Neither flaw is going to make any difference in the use of the bag.

The velcro-secured front flap allows quick access to your camera or other electronic gadgets.
- Roomy Front Pocket
The front pocket is roomy enough for a spare battery and several CF or SD memory cards.
- Univeral Fit
The roomy main compartment will fit almost all P&S (compact) cameras, save the bulkier models like the Canon G11 (which measures 4.4 x 3 x 1.9 inches), for example. (The internal dimensions of this case are 3.15 x 1.57 x 4.73 inches.)
- Velcroed Belt Loop
I love the ease with which the case can be attached to (or detached from) my belt. The velcroed belt loop make fastening/unfastening the belt loop a breeze!
- Simple and Attractive Design
The case has a simple but attractive design. The rubberized AmazonBasics Zipper just screams snazzy!
- Quality Case
The case is well-stiched and looks to be very durable.

The front pocket may be a little deep for SD/microSD cards. It requires a little digging to get these cards out.

In sum, what I love most about this case is the velcroed front flap, which allows quick and easy access to your camera. The velcoed belt loop is also a nice touch. If you're looking for a simple case for protecting your camera from light bumps and scratches, this case is definitely worth consideration.

AmazonBasics Universal Camera Case for Digital Cameras HF (Black) is seemingly well made with very soft interior, padded exterior and wide velcro flap.
This AmazonBasics Universal Camera Case has a convenient zipperd section on the outside for a few small goodies like extra memory cards or batteries, and an extra sturdy, and wide, belt loop. Can also be used as a cellphone case.

Nice case with ample padding August 3, 2010

I'm becoming a fan of the AmazonBasics line of products - offering sturdy products at a great price. The Universal Camera Case is no exception.
The case is larger than other cases I have used. However, it has more padding than typical cases. It fits my compact cameras with ample room for memory cards and batteries. The extra thick padding makes this a good case for throwing in a carry-on bag, but a bit too large for me to throw in my purse. I'm obsessed with finding the perfect case for any situation and the AmazonBasics case I like for traveling.
Overall, the case feels sturdy and the stitching and fabric appear to be of a relatively high quality. I recommend this case for people who want to throw their compact camera (or other small electronic item) into a bag and not worry too much about it breaking.
