VERY POOR PICTURE QUALITY January 2, 2010 Asoka K. Seneviratne (GAINESVILLE, VA, US) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
Size, ease of use, features and zoom are real good for the price. But both video and still picture quality is very, very poor. My wife bought this for me as a Christmas present but I cant wait to return it..What good is a camera if the picture quality is 3rd rated..
Panasonic SDR-H80 Camcorder February 9, 2010 Princess MGP (Trinidad & Tobago) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
I am still having problems coming to terms with operating this camcorder. The best thing about it is its light weight and portability. While I did not expect HD quality pictures, I certainly believed that the picture quality could be better. Unless there is professional lighting, it is a total waste of time trying to use this camcorder in the night. It is quite suitable for a child to experiement with but an adult wanting to capture serious moments would need to look somewhere else.
Good Camcorder for Basic Needs April 19, 2010 Slim1djh 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
We wanted a reasonably priced camcorder to record some events our kids are participating in. This camcorder made some sense for us. Love not having to juggle tapes or dvds to record on. Picture quality is fair, but that is what I read in other reviews. Uploading videos to YouTube is a snap. Gave us the ability to show family and friends the video without mailing tapes or dvds all over the place. Battery only lasts 2 hours at best, so make sure you conserve or have a back up plan if you are recording an entire event. I purchased what I would call a one leg tripod and would recommend that to anyone with a video camera. Helps steady the camera for long periods of time.
not mac compatible December 26, 2009 ben lee (kansas city, MO) I wanted a simple video camera for documenting and editing family events.
the panasonic sdr h80 hdd camcorder doesn't come with editing software and is not plug and play compatible with my Mac. a dvd burner is an optional accessory.
Good Video quality, poor picture quality...no flash. March 23, 2010 H. Seel (Elyria, OH USA) I really like the zoom on the video and the fact that all of you information can be saved to the hard disk or to memory card. However, the still image zoom feature just makes for blurry pictures...low megapixels. Quality built camera, lightweight, records decent videos, overall a good buy...if you have a separate camera for still images.
